“Where There’s a Skill, There’s a Way” campaign convey with the Brand’s Commitment
to engage all its audiences in the main effort to prepare and graduate students with the highest ethical, technical, and professional excellence.
(Miami, FL.) – At its 71st commencement ceremony celebrated on September 22nd 2019, CBT Technology Institute – the Miami Dade County based technical and vocational school – announced the launching of the “Where There’s a Skill, There’s a Way” advertising campaign, created to support the College’s commitment to prepare and graduate students with the highest ethical, technical, and professional excellence that will help them build a better life for themselves, their families, and their community.
“Where There’s a Skill, There’s a Way” campaign is aimed at prospective students who want to gain new skills, as well as graduates who want to take their careers to the next level. The campaign also looks to engage employers, local organizations, and both high school students and adults to promote the benefits of career education and its associated outcomes.
“After attending a 2017 Beacon Council meeting in which skills and education were being addressed at many levels, it was a moment of wonder when the [Miami Dade County Public Schools] Superintendent Alberto Carvalho stated that a ‘career education is not a substandard form of education’,” said Monica Llerena, President/CEO of CBT Technology Institute, and who spearheaded the campaign. “That phrase froze in my mind as it had been the first time I heard someone who was not in the private sector state what has been a mission for CBT Technology Institute for the past 30 years.”
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there will be about 500,000 new jobs related to the construction industry by 2026. Now, industry leaders are trying to recruit people quickly to fill those jobs. Being acutely aware of the opportunity these numbers represent for its prospective and current students, its graduates, and its faculty, by implementing the “Where There’s a Skill, There’s a Way” campaign, CBT Technology Institute aims their efforts to:
The campaign also aims to encourage career trade sectors and local legislation to support the need for career technical education in today’s markets. “We have a significant need to advocate for the skill trade industry which is currently in the national spotlight, and our students and employers need to be heard. Attaining the right skillset is a vital necessity to career success in the 21st century and those which employers are continuously seeking,” Llerena said.
In the months ahead there will be a series of internal and external campaigns leading the campuses (located at Hialeah, W. Flagler St. and Cutler Bay) to support the “Where There’s a Skill There’s a Way” slogan the College has adapted. CBT Technology Institute aims to offer refresher programs for all graduates, increase practical hands-on learning in the classrooms, and create boot camps that will be a value added to the student for overall success after graduation. Additionally, CBT Technology Institute will continue to have roundtables and focus groups around important topics such as apprenticeships, learning outcomes, and gainful employment.
