Education is Freedom Scholarship
Education is Freedom (EIF) was founded in 2002 with the creation of a dynamic board of corporate leaders who commonly attribute their professional success to the educational support they received from certain, influential individuals. Education is Freedom focuses national attention and resources on students who have shown academic promise and leadership but need guidance and financial assistance to go to college.

Order of the Elks Most Valuable Student
The Elks National Foundation provides more than $3.64 million in college scholarships each year through its three scholarship programs. The application process and deadlines vary for each program. All applications must go through a local Elks Lodge before reaching the Elks National Foundation office.
At the Walmart Foundation, they believe that a good education creates opportunities that lead to a better life. To help offset rising college tuition costs, we recently awarded more than $8 million in academic scholarships to help students afford higher education in the 2009-2010 school year.
These scholarships are especially important in a year when every dollar counts. The Walmart Foundation offers three scholarship programs and also administers the Walton Family Foundation Scholarship on behalf of the Walton Family Foundation.

Best Buy, Inc. Scholarship
This year the Best Buy @15 Scholarship Program will award 1,000 scholarships of $1,000 each to students in grades 9-12 living in the U.S. or Puerto Rico who plan to enter a full-time undergraduate course of study upon high school graduation.
We’re looking for folks with solid grades, who are involved in volunteer efforts in their schools and communities, and/or have a work history. Students must be planning to attend a college, university or technical school in the fall immediately following their high school graduation. 9–12th grade students from private, public, alternative or home schools are eligible to apply. Grants are a one-time award, so if you were a winner in the past, you aren’t eligible to apply again.

Prudential Spirit of Community Award
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States’ largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. The program was created in 1995 by Prudential in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) to honor middle level and high school students for outstanding service to others at the local, state, and national level.
The program’s goals are to applaud young people who already are making a positive difference in their towns and neighborhoods, and to inspire others to think about how they might contribute to their communities. Over the past 14 years, more than 260,000 young Americans have participated in the program, and nearly 90,000 of them have been officially recognized for their volunteer work.
