Program Overview

Welcome to CBT Technology Institute's ESL program, where we offer high-quality, full-time English courses designed to transform your personal and professional life. In the diverse City of Miami, we recognize the immense opportunities that come with mastering the English language. Our program has been developed for students eager to improve their communication skills and unlock new possibilities for themselves and their families.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Program

The ESL Program at CBT Technology Institute is designed to help students develop English language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The program supports students in achieving their academic, professional, and personal communication goals.

Instructional Approach

Students learn in an interactive, student-centered environment focused on developing practical communication skills. Instruction emphasizes listening, comprehension, and speaking aligned with individual student goals.

Learning activities include structured conversations, research assignments, interviews, and real-life communication scenarios. Students also participate in language lab activities to strengthen listening comprehension and oral communication, including technology-mediated interactions.

At the advanced level, students engage in intensive oral practice to build fluency and confidence in extended conversations. Instruction focuses on real-world communication, including public services, workplace communication, and social interaction.

Program Structure

  • Six proficiency levels (Beginning to Advanced)
  • Each level: 8 weeks
  • Weekly instruction: 20 hours
  • Total per level: 160 hours

Students are placed in the appropriate level based on placement procedures.

Program Delivery Format

The ESL program is offered in both face-to-face and hybrid formats (hybrid available only for domestic students).

The hybrid format combines:

  • Scheduled in-person classroom instruction
  • Synchronous online instruction

The hybrid program follows the same curriculum, learning outcomes, instructional materials, and number of instructional hours as the face-to-face format.

Technology Requirements for Hybrid Students

Students enrolling in the hybrid format must have access to:

  • A reliable internet connection
  • A computer or tablet compatible with institutional platforms
  • Audio and video capability for live online sessions

CBT Technology Institute provides orientation and support to help students successfully use required technology.

Student Services

ESL students have access to student services, including orientation, academic advising, and technical support. Hybrid students receive the same level of support as those attending in person.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees are published in the institutional catalog and on the CBT Technology Institute website. Additional costs may include materials and technology requirements for hybrid participation.
