1. Which companies where able to keep up with the changes?
2. What do you think happened to customers from companies like Compuserve or Netscape?
3. Do you think the gigantic spread was solely a marketing effort? Why?

Have fun.

As the technology is so advanced, companies like IBM are constanlly inventing new and better products to lainch in the market. To illustrate, the engineers at IBM are offering new developments in the aviation industry. they understand that making larger aircraft is not the best option any more .Therefore they are improving and leveraging technology for aircraft to be smarter,in this way the chaces of staying in a competitive market are higher.

In refference what happen to customers from COMPUSERVE? well, customer are always complaining about how bad the system works, it seems that companies like COMPUSERVE is falling behaind in technology, and of course consumers will protest. Every company these days should be upgrading their systems or products, so they can deliver the best to their customers.

A few companies were able to keep up with the changes, such as Yahoo and AOL. I think that Netscape kept back on technology, its service was from bad to poor, like CompuServe, they receive numerous complaints and new companies with a better technology and services taking actions in pro the customers. The giants spreads of the companies on top as I think there was based on marketing efforts, research, and continuous updating their technology

I think the customers of those companies did not continue active in the pages, submitted a low percentage of attendance at the pages and disappear from the internet, also by the accounts as Compuserve menbresia were paid $ 19.95. Today access to pages is free.

In 1996, Americans spent 30 minutes per month surfing the web. Today, that number has skyrocketed to 27 hours.

Netscape claimed the third spot on a list of most popular site in ’96. I can barely remember what that is.

It now only takes 6 seconds for a page to load as compared to the 30 seconds it took back in the day.

Microsoft, Yahoo and Google have become big in this industry, without forget APPLE !!!!!!!

Aol and Yahoo have remained with the tecnhologcal change
and market. In the other hand, comapanies like Google have managed to get and stay in this market. In addiction, companies as CompuServe or Netscape could not remain on the market because their service was not enough for customers and they did not change their way of marketing.

Finally, AOL, Yahoo and Google have become big in this industry
because they have managed to maintain an excellent marketing network
and this has made it possible that many people prefer their service

companies that remained from 96 to 2011 are AOL and Yahoo

these companies do not deliver the strategy across the business screeds to solidify your company

yes, because the marketing transcends borders and produces a rapid growth in any company that handles it well

The two companies that survived the AOL and YAHOO change were able to keep them that were adapting to change and demanding needs of people, those companies that were not renewed as new technologies emerged so many disappeared as CompuServe Netscape and get started to lose popularity and the services offered to its customers were losing quality for which customers were switch to the companies that were in the vanguard, which had better technology and better prices. The speed and growth of the internet has been influenced by marketing, but is largely by technological advances.

[b][size=4] 1-Companies that are currently kept are yahoo and aol.
2-I think customers of CompuServe and Netscape what happened to them was that I could not find what they sought, as a closed network could not compete with an open network, and not only this but also occurred that appeared thousands of networks with development most advanced and lowest prices.
3-I think that it was not just marketing, marketing if I am part of the spread but I think also the technological change, economic development

Only two companies were able to keep up whit the changes. They are aol.com and yahoo.com

The technology has been changing constantly and other companies could not survive to these changes because their products were so poor and bad for customers.

Yes. I think that the technology and effort are important ways for a better economic development in any company that want to keep up and to mantain an excellent marketing.

Technology changes in a synergetic manner, and for many of the original internet companies…it was too fast. As a Marketing guy, I can tell you that this is a “big wave” that we are riding to create new ways of making a sale, connecting with customers, and do some serious data-mining on the consumers (all of us)…but Marketing didn’t create anything; in fact, I believe that innovation, competition, and the miniaturization of high tech toys did the trick. My 2 cents.

BTW…Yahoo just fired its CEO and now is for sale…and I found out through Google and Facebook (ironic) www.bgr.com/2011/09/07/yahoo-fires-ceo-p...company-up-for-sale/

Cheers.

Companies that were able to keep up with the changes were Yahoo y AOL.
Netscape and CompuServe can not adapt to changes in technology and its end was that AOL bought these two companies.
This spread has a great influence on marketing but also the change in technology and the economy.
