F-1 Student Visa & Immigration Requirements

F-1 Student Visa & Immigration Requirements

Once international applicants complete the admission process and are accepted to CBT College, the next step is to apply for the F-1 student visa. Contact the local U.S. Embassy in your country to schedule an F-1 visa appointment and interview as soon as you are notified of your acceptance to CBT College. Visit the following website for visa wait times for your country: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/wait/wait_4638.html

During the F-1 student visa interview, the U.S. immigration officer will require the following documents:

  • Form I-20A-B, Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status for Academic and Language Student or Form I-20M-N, Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Students.
  • A completed non-immigrant visa application
  • One (1) 2x2 photograph
  • A receipt to show payment of the visa application fee
  • A receipt to show payment of the SEVIS I-901 fee
  • Official transcripts and diplomas from previous institutions attended
  • Scores from standardized tests required by CBT College such as TOEFL (unless English is your native language or you are enrolling in the ESL program).
  • Financial evidence that shows that the student or student’s sponsor has sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses during the period of intended study. For example, official bank statement or bank letter showing the minimum required amount for student’s tuition and living expenses.
  • Letter of acceptance from CBT College.

You may verify all these requirements with the local U.S. Embassy in your country. For more information on applying for the F-1 student visa, you can visit: www.usimmigrationsupport.org/ http://www.ice.gov/sevis/becoming_nonimmigrant_student_52007.htm
