Carolyn Schmidt is the director of the Business Programs for the School of Business at CBT College. In her current position, she also teaches courses in International Business and Management.

A native of Connecticut, Professor Schmidt received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Dayton, Ohio, her M.S.M in International Business from St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, FL and her post Masters Certificate in College Teaching and Learning from Norwich University in Northfield, VT.

Before joining CBT, Professor Schmidt held several positions in the Logistics Industry. She held positions at prestigious firms such as AEI, where she was selected to participate in their rigorous management training program; which brought her to Miami. She opened the China Airlines Cargo office for the carrier at Miami International Airport; when they were the first Asian carrier to service Miami. Under her tenure the carrier grew from 1 to 3 flights per week. During her time at LEP she was credited with fostering trade between South Florida and Spain and received recognition of such through their headquarters in London and the Spain – US Chamber of Commerce .

At Oceanwide she managed the EdiTrade portfolio of applications where she assisted several US/Foreign carriers and cargo intermediaries with U.S. Customs Advanced Manifest Reporting, Customs Clearance, and assisted in them with the mitigation of penalties. She was recruited away from Oceanwide by IATA where she was director of Sales, Marketing and Special Projects for IATA’s USA division, CNS.

Aside from her administrative and teaching responsibilities at CBT, she volunteers and supports various animal rescue groups in Dade County.
