Course Description : This course is designed to increase awareness and train all healthcare workers, specially nursing home staff about the special care needs of residents who have Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, this seminar focuses on defining and understanding the disease.

1.Understanding Dementia
2.Concepts and Characteristics of AD and related dementias
3.The Aging Population
4.Causes and Treatment
5.Behavioral Changes
6.Communicating with People who have AD

Intended Audience : This seminar is designed for all the health care workers such as physician, nurses, technical personnel, medical assistant, etc.

Learning Strategies :

Lecture and discussion methods will be used to present the information on Alzheimer’s Disease and supplemental videotapes

Evaluation Criteria:

-Post Test
-Attendance is essential for the successful completion of the all course objectives
