The Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) credential is for professionals who have the skills to successfully implement a Microsoft product or technology as part of a business solution in an organization.
The Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) on Windows Server 2003 credential is intended for IT professionals who work in the typically complex computing environment of medium to large companies. An MCSA candidate should have
6 to 12 months of experience administering client and network operating systems in environments that have the following characteristics.
250 to 5,000 or more users
Three or more physical locations
Three or more domain controllers
Network services and resources such as messaging, database, file and print, proxy server, firewall, Internet, intranet, remote access, and client computer management
Connectivity requirements such as connecting branch offices and individual users in remote locations to the corporate network and connecting corporate networks to the Internet
In addition, an MCSE candidate should have at least one year of experience in the following areas:
Implementing and administering a desktop operating system
Designing a network infrastructure.

Cisco certifications are very popular and are geared toward those who work with Cisco routers, switches and other equipment. These exams are difficult and for those who have hands on experience. The CCIE is for experts. CCNA is for individuals who install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, IPX, Serial, AppleTalk, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists, using Cisco routers and switches.

Network+ is a vendor-neutral certification that measures the technical knowledge of networking professionals. Earning the Network+ certification means that one possesses the knowledge needed to configure and install today's advanced networking components. The exam covers a wide range of vendor and product neutral networking technologies.
Microsoft Office Specialist (Office Specialist) certification, the premier Microsoft desktop certification, is a globally recognized standard for demonstrating desktop skills. The Office Specialist program is helping meet the demand for qualified and knowledgeable people in the modern workplace.
